Guwahati Murder: Accused Appear in CJM Court, Police Custody Extended for Some
Guwahati, 21st October: The investigation into the murder of a youth in Guwahati continues to unfold, with the six accused in the case appearing before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on October 21.
In the latest developments, the police custody of the accused, namely Sourabh Goenka, Arvinda Roy, and Govinda Kumar, has been extended by five days. At the same time, Gitashri Sinha, her sister Neha Sinha, and her mother Jharna Sinha have been remanded to judicial custody.
Additionally, Ajit Sinha, the father of Gitashri Sinha, had been remanded to judicial custody on October 16 in connection with the shocking murder of Anjan Nath.
The main accused, Sourabh Goenka, was singled out by Guwahati Police as the prime suspect in the murder case. The incident took place on October 12 when Anjan Nath was shot at point-blank range while riding a two-wheeler in Guwahati’s Koinadhora area. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at Metro Hospital in Khanapara.
It was revealed that Anjan Nath had been in a relationship with Gitashri Sinha, who had been married twice before and was divorced. Gitashri’s family members did not approve of their relationship, despite being together for four years. The case has garnered significant attention and continues to be under investigation.
