Mizoram: Large Cache of Explosives Seized Ahead of Assembly Polls

Northeast Desk, 22nd October: In a crucial development ahead of the forthcoming assembly polls in Mizoram, a collaborative operation conducted by Assam Rifles and the state police resulted in the discovery and confiscation of a substantial quantity of explosives. The haul included 5,800 detonators and 11,200 meters of codex wire, according to a statement from the paramilitary forces on October 22.

The cache of warlike materials was uncovered along the Siaha-Chakhang road, situated in Mizoram’s Siaha district, according to official reports.

All the seized items have been handed over to the Siaha police station for the initiation of further legal procedures. This discovery serves as a significant development, emphasizing the security efforts in the lead-up to the assembly polls in Mizoram.
