Agitated Youths Attack Residence of ABMSU President Amid Puja Festivities
Guwahati, 23rd October: Amid the ongoing Puja festivities, a group of agitated youths reportedly launched an attack on the residence of Taison Hussain, the president of the All Bodo Minority Students Union (ABMSU). This disturbing incident unfolded in the Darkuchi locality situated in the Tamulpur district of Assam.
According to sources, the tumult began earlier in the evening during a cultural program organized by the Darkuchi Durga Puja Committee. The situation escalated to the point where a group of individuals engaged in a clash, leading to the blocking of Tamulpur Road at night as they set tires ablaze in protest.
In a separate but coordinated series of events, the ABMSU office in Darkuchi was targeted by a group of miscreants, resulting in extensive damage to the premises. Simultaneously, another faction of troublemakers pelted stones at the residence of ABMSU President Taison Hussain.
The situation ultimately came under control thanks to the intervention of the Tamulpur police. However, some sources have suggested that the miscreants were allegedly associated with RSS cadres from the Mangaldai unit in Darrang district. This incident underscores the need for measures to address and prevent such incidents during festive occasions.
