Guwahati, 25th October: In a shocking incident, a youth from Dergaon in Assam, has taken his own life after claiming he was brutally beaten by police personnel.
The victim, identified as Ajoy Dutta, was recovered hanging from a tree near the Gelabil river.
A video shared by Ajoy on Facebook depicted his alleged assault by the police when he attempted to intervene in a dispute during Vijaya Dashami celebrations outside his home.
The incident occurred in Kumargaon Doloumukh in Dergaon on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.
In the video, Ajoy recounted being forcibly taken into a police car and beaten by officers without any apparent reason.
He went live on Facebook, announcing his decision to end his life, vowing not to return home. Ajoy asserted that he was sharing the video to reveal the truth behind his extreme step.
This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, as it highlights the tragic consequences of alleged police brutality.
