Assam: Over 100 Passengers On Ferry Left Stranded Near Majuli

Guwahati, 27th October: A ferry traveling from Nimati ghat to Kamalabari, Assam, became stranded in the Brahmaputra river on October 27, with passengers and vehicles on board.

The ferry was transporting a significant number of people and several vehicles, including 40 motorcycles. It had arrived at Kamalabari Ghat from Nimati at 8:30 am.

In response to the situation, the Inland Water Transport Department has taken steps to rescue the passengers who were stranded on the ferry. An additional ferry has been arranged to ensure the safety and transport of those on board. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of water transportation in the region and the measures taken to address such emergencies.
