Guwahati, 28th October: A 47-year-old former Panchayat member and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam’s Karimganj was discovered dead after being missing for three days.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Sattar.
Sattar was last seen on the night of October 23, following multiple calls for an important meeting.
His body, bearing evident signs of torture, was found in Karimganj district on Friday.
The Karimganj police have registered a murder case after the discovery of his body.
