Nagaland Publishes Draft Photo Electoral Roll with Over 1.2 Million Electors

Northeast Desk, 28th October: Nagaland’s State Election Department has released the draft photo electoral roll, which includes a total of 1,297,573 electors. This draft roll covers 59 out of the 60 Assembly constituencies in the state, with revision activities being suspended for the Tapi seat due to the upcoming November 7 bye-election.

The draft electoral roll for 2024 comprises 7,827 service voters, 651,041 male electors, and 646,532 female electors. The filing of claims and objections has commenced and will continue until December 9.

Special claims and objection camps will be held in all polling stations on November 3, 4, 17, and 18. Citizens can submit their claims and objections to the concerned Booth Level Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, or Electoral Registration Officer.

Forms are available for download on the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Chief Electoral Officer’s website. Online applications can also be submitted through voters.eci.gov.in or the Voter Helpline App (VHA), which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Vyasan R, also informed that the final photo electoral roll for the state will be published on January 10, 2024. This draft roll publication is a crucial step in preparing for upcoming elections and ensuring the accuracy of the voter list.
