Mukesh Ambani Receives Third Death Threat Demanding Rs 400 Crore
National Desk, 31st October: Mukesh Ambani, the chairperson of Reliance Industries, has been targeted with a third death threat, this time demanding a ransom of Rs 400 crore.
The sender is suspected to be the same individual who issued two previous threats on October 27, initially asking for Rs 20 crore, which later escalated to Rs 200 crore.
Mumbai Police have reacted immediately to these threats by enhancing security measures around Mukesh Ambani’s south Mumbai residence.
The first threat, received on October 27, included a warning of being shot if the ransom of Rs 20 crore wasn’t paid.
Following a complaint by Ambani’s security team, Gamdevi Police registered a case against an unknown person under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and investigations are ongoing.
Subsequently, on October 28, a second threat was received from the same email account, this time demanding Rs 200 crore.
It stated, “U have not responded to our email now the amount is 200 crore otherwise the death warrant is signed.” It’s worth noting that Ambani and his family have previously been targeted with death threats.
In 2022, an anonymous caller threatened to blow up Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in south Mumbai.
In August 2022, a jeweler was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill Ambani and his family.
In February 2021, a vehicle containing explosives was discovered near Ambani’s south Mumbai residence, ‘Antilia.’ The Mumbai Police are actively investigating this series of threats.
