Assam Government to provide Scooters to Meritorious Students

Guwahati, 2nd November: The Assam government on November 1 made an announcement regarding the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Award Scheme, under which scooters will be awarded to meritorious students in the state.

As per the decision taken during the weekly cabinet meeting, male students achieving a score of 75 percent and above, and female students achieving a score of 60 percent and above in the Class 12 examinations conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will be presented with scooters.

The scooter distribution is scheduled for November 30, 2023, with a total of 30,209 female students and 5,566 male students set to receive scooters under this award scheme.

Furthermore, students who have scored 75 percent and above in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exams conducted by the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) will be granted cash prize of Rs 15,000 each as part of the Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme on November 29. This initiative will benefit 27,183 students, both male and female, across Assam.
