Tripura Police Seeks Action Taken Report on Touts Involved in Border Infiltration

Northeast Desk, 2nd November: The Additional Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) has requested action taken reports from all District Superintendents of Police regarding touts involved in border-related crimes, specifically related to Rohingya, Bangladeshis, and other foreign nationals, separately for the years 2022 and 2023.

 The Additional Inspector General of Police has asked the District SPs to submit these reports by tomorrow for further action, emphasizing the urgency of the matter.

“…regarding action taken report against touts involved in infiltration of border related crime/cases i.e. Rohingya/Bangladeshis/other foreign nationals(Seperately) through IBB in the state for the year 2022 and 2023. Kindly arrange to send the report by tomorrow for further course of action. Matter may be treated as urgent”, it reads.

In recent times, Tripura, which shares an approximately 856 km long international border with Bangladesh, has experienced an influx of Bangladeshi nationals. On Wednesday, authorities detained seven Bangladeshi nationals from two different locations within the state.
