Assam: 19 shops destroyed after major fire in Guwahati market area, arson suspected
Guwahati, 6th November: A devastating fire, believed to be an act of arson, wreaked havoc on the night of November 5, consuming more than 15 business establishments in Guwahati’s Barbari area, according to reliable sources.
The incident took place in a market at Barbari Tiniali, resulting in the destruction of at least 19 shops, with a predominant focus on the sale of fruits and vegetables.
Local residents suspect the fire may have been intentionally set by unidentified miscreants.
Immediate action was taken as authorities, including the police and fire department, were promptly notified.
In response, three fire trucks were dispatched to the scene to combat and control the blaze, reports added.
