Assamese Animation Film ‘Lachit, The Warrior’ Wins Best Animation Film at YathaKatha International Festival
Entertainment Desk, 6th November: The Assamese animated film ‘Lachit, The Warrior’ received the Best Animation Film award at the YathaKatha International Film and Literature Festival in Mumbai on Sunday. This biopic short film is centered on the life and achievements of the esteemed Assamese General, Lachit Borphukan.
The film is written and directed by Partha Sarathi Mahanta and produced by Mina Mahanta and Indrani Baruah. Dr. Amarjyoti Choudhury provided the narration, while Rupam Talukdar composed the music. Anupam Mahanta served as the creative director, with storyboarding and illustration by Hrishikesh Bora and VFX by Ratul Dutta.
‘Lachit, The Warrior’ has been screened and recognized at eight International Film Festivals, including events in Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, and the Mumbai North-East Film Festival. It has also been chosen for the prestigious Indian Panorama at the upcoming International Film Festival of India in Goa.
In October, the film received the Best Animation Award at the 12th Delhi Shorts International Film Festival, following its earlier recognition at the Chambal International Film Festival, where it won the Best Animation Film category in September.
