Assam: One drug peddler arrested with Yaba tablets worth Rs 90 lakh in Cachar district

Guwahati, 7th November: In a collaborative operation involving Assam Rifles and the Lakhipur Police Station in Cachar district, Assam, authorities apprehended an individual and seized a huge quantity of Yaba tablets on November 6, 2023.

Acting on credible information regarding drug sales, Assam Rifles, in coordination with police personnel from the Lakhipur Police Station, initiated a joint operation.

During this operation, the team apprehended one individual and confiscated 30,000 Yaba tablets, valued at approximately Rs 90 lakhs, in the general area of Hmarkhawlien, Cachar District, Assam.

The individual along with the seized contraband has been handed over to the Lakhipur Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
