Prime Accused Bandana Kalita Granted Bail in Guwahati Double Murder Case

Guwahati, 10th November: The session’s judge’s court has granted bail to Bandana Kalita, the prime accused in the Guwahati double murder case.

According to reports, Kalita will have to appear at Noonmati police station twice a week and cannot leave her home district without court permission.

Earlier in October, Arup Deka, an accomplice in the Noonmati Double Murder incident, was also granted bail by the Gauhati High Court.

Deka had been in judicial custody since March 4 for his alleged involvement in the case.

Bandana Kalita had committed the murders, killing her mother-in-law Shankari Dey on July 27, 2022, and her husband, Amarjyoti Dey, on August 17, 2022.

The incident gained attention when Guwahati Police arrested Kalita and her accomplices, Arup Deka and Dhonti Deka.

A massive search operation in Meghalaya was conducted to locate the victims’ body parts.
