Assam: Two Bangladeshi Nationals Arrested for Cattle Theft Near Indo-Bangladesh Border
Guwahati, 10th November: Two Bangladeshi nationals, identified as Mozaffar Hussain and Abdul Jalil, were arrested near the Indo-Bangladesh border in the Berbhangi area under the Golakganj police station in Dhubri district. The individuals reportedly trespassed through the international boundary fence with the intention of stealing cattle from a local resident’s house in the Berbhangi Part-ll area.
The Bangladeshi thieves were caught in the act by the homeowner, Mojahar Ali, who raised an alarm, prompting locals to apprehend the criminals. The captured individuals, residents of the Sobarkuti area in the Kedar Union of Bangladesh’s Kurigram district, were handed over to the police. The incident raises concerns about border security despite strict measures by the BSF. Cattle theft along the Indo-Bangladesh border has been a recurring issue in the Golakganj area of Dhubri district.
