Marginal Improvement in Delhi’s Air Quality, rain unlikely today

National Desk, 11th November: Delhi’s air quality exhibited a slight improvement on Saturday, falling into the ‘poor’ category, as reported by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded a value of 279, following overnight rainfall the previous day.

In specific areas, Anand Vihar, known as one of the city’s pollution hotspots, noted an AQI of 282, while RK Puram recorded 220. Punjabi Bagh and ITO registered AQI values of 236 and 263, respectively, on Saturday morning.

Although this indicates betterment from the alarming AQI levels of 437 on Thursday and 426 on Wednesday, the city’s air quality still lingers in the ‘poor’ category. The CPCB classification provides a scale where an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good,’ while values above 500 are labeled ‘severe plus.’

While the IMD suggests that Delhi is unlikely to experience rain today, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy with shallow fog in the morning. The temperature is forecasted to range from a minimum of 14 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius.
