ZPM President Lalliansawta Optimistic About Party’s Victory in Mizoram Assembly Elections

Northeast Desk, 11th November: Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) president Lalliansawta expressed strong optimism about his party’s chances of securing victory in the recently held Mizoram assembly elections.

Addressing party workers at a ZPM office, he emphasized the unity among experienced and novice politicians within the party.

Despite being a relatively young political entity, Lalliansawta claimed that the ZPM encountered no internal issues.

As the election results are scheduled to be declared on December 3, he conveyed his confidence in the party’s success.

ZPM contested 40 seats in the state assembly polls, hoping to surpass their performance from the 2018 elections where they contested 39 seats and secured eight constituencies.

Lalliansawta acknowledged the initial skepticism regarding potential problems due to the party’s youthfulness and the amalgamation of experienced and novice politicians for a common cause.

However, he assured party members that such concerns did not materialize. Reflecting on past setbacks, he mentioned losing two seats to the Mizo National Front (MNF) in subsequent polls following their 2018 success. Despite this, Lalliansawta remained resolute in his belief that ZPM would come to power this time.
