Assam: Circle Office Transforms into Illicit Liquor Hub, Raid Uncovers Alcohol Bottles in Cachar

Guwahati, 14th November: In a startling incident, the office of the Circle Officer in Katigorah at Assam’s Cachar transformed into a liquor den on the night of November 13.

The night guard, along with some friends and an employee of the Katigorah Sub Registrar Office, held a liquor party in one of the Circle Office quarters.

A raid ensued after Circle Officer Robert Tol received information about the ongoing liquor party within the office premises.

Allegedly organized by night guards Rajendra Singh and Zaidul Hussain, approximately 10-12 individuals, including Zaidul Hussain, Rajendra Singh, and an employee from the Katigorah Sub Registrar office, participated in the event.

Circle Officer Robert Tol, finding the main gate locked entered the office premises through a different route. He made a dramatic entrance into the room where the liquor party was in progress. Inside, several men, including the night guards, were enjoying a liquor party accompanied by duck meat.

Furious upon witnessing this misuse of a government office, the officer reprimanded the employees, declaring that they would face punishment for their actions.

Circle Officer Robert Tol stated that a comprehensive report on the incident would soon be submitted to the District Collector. He further emphasized that everyone involved would face legal consequences, ensuring that no one would be spared.
