Assam: Murder Suspect Evades 7 Bullets, Captured in Shallow Waters in Dhubri
Guwahati, 15th November: In an unforeseen turn of events, gunfire erupted Bilasipara in Assam’s Dhubri district, as local police undertook a late-night operation targeting murder suspect Ali Akbar. The police fired seven rounds to prevent Akbar’s escape.
Conducted by the Sub-Divisional Police Office (SDPO) and the Office In-Charge of Bilasipara PS, the operation was a response to charges against Akbar for the alleged murder of a young entrepreneur in Char Chapori’s Ward 8 in May of this year.
Sources indicated that the operation, based on classified information about Akbar’s location in the Machpara area, was executed covertly. Despite being tipped off about a potential police action, Akbar attempted to flee through agricultural paths near the river.
Upon detection, the police squad fired at Akbar to incapacitate him. However, Akbar evaded injury despite multiple rounds being discharged and managed to escape the scene. Following his evasion, the police intensified efforts to locate him.
Eventually, Akbar was apprehended in shallow waters near the initial encounter site. Subsequently, he was transported to the Bilasipara police station, where legal proceedings were initiated against him.
