Tripura: Head-On Collision in Baramura Hills, Over 15 Injured

Northeast Desk, 16th November: A head-on collision between a bus and a four-wheeler carrying passengers in the Hatai Kotor area, formerly known as Baramura Hills ranges, under Teliamura Sub-division in Tripura’s Khowai district resulted in over 15 individuals sustaining injuries on Thursday.

According to Teliamura Sub-divisional Police Officer Prasun Kanti Tripura, the accident occurred due to overspeeding, causing the four-wheeler to lose control in the hilly terrain. The collision led to injuries, and more than 15 individuals were promptly rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, there are no reported casualties.

Animesh Debbarma, the Leader of the Opposition and MLA of Tipra Motha, who happened to be passing by the accident spot, stopped to assist the injured. He ensured that the injured passengers received prompt attention and were swiftly transported to the hospital for medical care.

“All of the victims were sent to Teliamura Sub-divisional Hospital. Because of the severity of their conditions, two patients, named as Biki Das, 4, and Chinu Bala Das, 35, were referred to GB Pant Hospital in Agartala. After receiving first care, the remaining patients were given minor injuries and released from the hospital, according to Animesh Debbarma.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the collision, and efforts are being made to ensure the well-being of the injured individuals.
