Guwahati, 18th November: A notorious fraudster was apprehended by Chandmari Police in the Arjyanagar locality, as reported on Saturday.
Sources have identified the fraudster as Bappa Dey.
Allegedly charged with duping people, Bappa Dey faces numerous cases registered at different police stations across Guwahati. Further, kidnapping charges have also been levied against him.
Reports suggest FIRs against Dey have been filed at Chandmari, Panbazar, and Paltan Bazar police stations.
It is said that Bappa Dey, under the guise of providing flats, had swindled a significant amount of money from multiple individuals.
Following his arrest, victims of his scheme have come forward, demanding the money they claim was ‘stolen’ by him.
