Manipur: Huge Cache of Arms and Ammunition recovered in Imphal East District
Northeast Desk, 22nd November: Security forces on November 21 carried out a thorough search operation in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal East district in Manipur.
The operations yielded the discovery of various items, including two arms—a .303 Country-made rifle and a Country-made 9mm pistol with a magazine.
In addition, 14 pieces of ammunition were retrieved, consisting of 2 live 7.62mm rounds, 3 live 9mm rounds, and 9 rounds of 12-gauge ammunition.
Furthermore, the search efforts resulted in the recovery of 21 blank fire .303 ammunition, as well as 6 explosives, comprising 3 No 36 Indian Hand Grenades and 3 No 80 hand grenades.
Additionally, 11 mini flares of 16mm (red) were found, along with a 51mm para-illuminating bomb and a tube launching 1A.
These extensive search operations were conducted across Thoubal, Kakching, and Kangpokpi districts, emphasizing the comprehensive nature of the security measures taken in the region.
