Assam: Wild Elephant Dies After Being Hit By Train in Biswanath

Guwahati, 28th November: In a tragic incident, a wild elephant died after being hit by a speeding train in Biswanath district of Assam on Monday night.

The incident took place at Buroighat region in Bihali under Borgang Forest Range Office in Biswanath.

As per sources, a herd of elephants was crossing the rail tracks when the incident occurred.

Unfortunately, one of the tuskers was hit by the Namibia Donyi Polo Express, which was on its way to Guwahati from Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh.

Sources further clam that the elephant herd left the forest in search of food.

The incident has lead to the villagers placing flower wreaths, agarbattis on the deceased animal.
