Mizoram: Squadron Leader Manisha Padhi Makes History as First Female Armed Forces Officer Appointed as Aide de Camp in Raj Bhawan
Northeast Desk, 29th November: Mizoram Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati has appointed Squadron Leader Manisha Padhi, a distinguished officer from the Indian Air Force, as the first woman from the Armed Forces to serve as Aide de Camp (ADC) in Raj Bhawan.
Squadron Leader Manisha Padhi, a 2015 batch Indian Air Force Officer, brings a wealth of experience, having served at Air Force Stations in Bidar, Pune, and Bhatinda. Governor Kambhampati emphasized the historic nature of her appointment, considering it a significant milestone and a powerful testament to women shattering gender norms.
In a formal ceremony held in the afternoon, Sqn Leader Manisha Padhi assumed her new role and was introduced to the officers and staff at Raj Bhavan, Mizoram. Her appointment not only reflects individual achievement but also symbolizes the ongoing progress towards gender inclusivity within the Indian Armed Forces.
