Meghalaya Chief Minister Reviews Preparations for Upcoming Meghalaya Games

Northeast Desk, 30th November: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Sports Minister Shakliar Warjri held a review meeting on Wednesday to discuss the preparations for the upcoming Meghalaya Games. Scheduled for January 2024, Tura in West Garo Hills will host the games.

The meeting conducted online with Deputy Commissioners, delved into various aspects of event preparation, covering venue location, accommodation, and logistics such as security, water, electricity, food, and materials.

While acknowledging the challenges posed by Tura’s limited infrastructure in accommodating nearly 4000 attendees, including athletes and officials, Sangma expressed optimism about making the necessary arrangements on time. Another review meeting is scheduled for December 8 in Tura to further assess and streamline the preparations for the Meghalaya Games.
