Mizoram Election Result 2023: BJP secures Two Seats, Aims for Third, State President Commends PM Modi’s Leadership
Northeast Desk, 4th December: As the tallying of votes unfolds in the Mizoram Assembly Elections 2023, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is making notable progress in the state, securing two seats with the potential to add a third to their count. Mizoram State BJP President Vanlalhmuaka, expressing optimism about the party’s performance, credited the success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President JP Nadda.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi and JP Nadda, BJP is making significant strides in Mizoram. In 2018, we had only secured 1 seat, but now we are on track to secure 3 seats; we have already clinched 2,” asserted Vanlalhmuaka.
The BJP’s victories are observed in Siaha, where K Beichhua emerged triumphant, and in Palak, where K Hrahmo secured a win.
Earlier today, amidst the ongoing vote counting for the 40 assembly seats, Vanlalhmuaka announced that the BJP would play a crucial role in the upcoming state government. Despite initial expectations of a hung assembly, he acknowledged the unforeseen developments and underscored the party’s respect for the people’s mandate.
“We are confident about winning three seats. We anticipate more than five seats. Let’s await the results,” he stated with confidence.
Vanlalhmuaka conveyed the BJP’s readiness to actively contribute to the formation of the new government in Mizoram. In 2018, the party had secured only one seat, and this time around, it contested in 23 seats, reflecting a significant expansion of its electoral presence in the state.
The counting of votes commenced at 8 am under stringent security measures.
