Assam: RHAC releases schemes to boost tourism in the area, reconstructs park along NH-17
Northeast Desk, 6th December: In a bid to enhance tourism and boost local development, the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) has introduced two significant schemes in the Boko area within its jurisdiction. The Chief Executive Member of the RHAC, Tankeswar Rabha, inaugurated a tourist guest house at Hahim, located along the Assam-Meghalaya border, and a reconstructed park at Lampara along NH 17 on Monday.
The Tourist Guest House, constructed during the financial year 2019-20 with a budget of 40 lakhs, aims to provide a comfortable stay for tourists exploring the Boko area. Additionally, the Lampara Park, also built during the financial year 2019-20 with an allocated amount of 20 lakhs, underwent reconstruction to offer a rejuvenating space for locals and visitors alike.
Tankeswar Rabha, during his visit to Boko, inaugurated both tourism-centric schemes as part of various programs. The RHAC Chief Executive Member also opened a women’s building in Hahim, unveiled a permanent memorial monument for the All Rabha Students Union office at Kenduguri village, and participated in other inauguration programs sponsored by the RHAC.
Emphasizing the importance of tourism, Tankaswar Rabha highlighted, “Tourism boosts the revenue of the economy, creates thousands of jobs, and develops infrastructure. We also pay attention to developing rural tourism so that the youths of the area can stand on their own feet without any government job.”
“To promote tourist attraction areas like Hahim, Lumpi, Sunrise Point of Parboti hills, RHAC has constructed the Tourist Guest House. Now, tourists wanting to stay overnight in the Boko area can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery in Hahim. Similarly, the RHAC has renovated the Lampara Children cum Forest Park, providing a space for people in the area, tourists, and children to enjoy nature,” added RHAC Chief Tankeswar Rabha.
