Assam: Trucks with 70 cattle heads seized by police at Jorabat

Guwahati, 9th December: Assam Police on December 9 took action by intercepting two trucks attempting to smuggle 70 live cattle into Meghalaya at Jorabat.

The intervention took place when a team from the Jorabat Outpost of Basistha Police Station, East Guwahati Police, intercepted two trucks with registration numbers AS01 FC 4531 and NL01 AB 3849.

In response to this incident, a thorough investigation into the seizure has been initiated.

This incident follows a previous success by Assam Police on November 7, where they thwarted an interstate cattle smuggling attempt in Jorabat, recovering at least 32 cattle heads.

Two persons were arrested following the seizure.
