Karnataka: HD Kumaraswamy claims govt may fall soon, CM reacts

National Desk, 11th December: Janata Dal (Secular) chief HD Kumaraswamy has raised concerns over the stability of the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka, suggesting that a state minister, supported by 50-60 Congress MLAs, may defect to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Kumaraswamy, former Chief Minister of Karnataka, warned of a possible downfall of the Karnataka government, citing a lack of honesty and loyalty among political figures.

In response, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah dismissed the claims, stating that both the BJP and JD(S) are in a state of illusion regarding his government’s collapse. The political tension escalates as the BJP and JD(S) form an alliance in Karnataka to challenge the ruling Congress in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

This development follows recent clashes between JD(S) and Congress, with Kumaraswamy accusing Siddaramaiah of engaging in “appeasement politics” after the Chief Minister announced increased funds for the minorities department. The political landscape in Karnataka remains volatile as leaders exchange accusations and alliances shift ahead of the impending elections.
