Nagaland Police Busts Major Drug Trafficking Network Across Northeast States

Northeast Desk, 13th December: Nagaland Police has uncovered a vast drug trafficking network spanning Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Punjab, possibly extending to other parts of the country.

The breakthrough occurred with an arrest in Sechu Zubza, Kohima District, on November 13, involving two traffickers from Manipur carrying a significant amount of heroin.

Subsequent investigations indicate that the accused might have trafficked approximately 60 kgs of heroin valued at around Rs 400 crore over the past year.

Nagaland DGP Rupin Sharma stated that 12 individuals connected to this network have been apprehended so far, hailing from Nagaland, Manipur, and Assam.

Further developments are anticipated as the investigation progresses.
