Assam: Absconding jail inmate Nabbed in Duliajan

Guwahati, 16th December: In a recent development, authorities have apprehended a prisoner who had managed to escape from the Bhadoi Police Outpost in Assam’s Duliajan.

The escapee has been identified as Pankaj Burhagohain, a notorious thief in custody, reportedly fled from the outpost’s washroom on Friday night.

The escape prompted a tense situation at the police outpost, triggering immediate search operations to locate the absconding prisoner.

Pankaj Burhagohain, a resident of the Kathalguri locality in Duliajan, had temporarily eluded custody but was later captured.

In addition to the successful capture of the escaped prisoner, sources reveal that three more individuals have been apprehended in connection with the incident, furthering the police’s efforts to address the situation.
