Northeast Desk, 18th December: In response to fresh incidents of violence in Manipur following the killing of 13 people in a gunfight, the Centre has dispatched CBI Director Praveen Sood to Imphal.
Sood is set to arrive with a team of specialists to check the progress of the investigation.
Currently in Guwahati, Sood convened a meeting with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) at the CBI office in Guwahati to discuss the ongoing violence in Manipur.
Tensions have escalated, leading to clashes between protesters, police, and Rapid Action Force personnel, with protesters demanding justice for the abducted and murdered students.
