
Assam: Concerns Raised Over Malfunctioning Animal Detection Systems in Kaziranga
Guwahati, 18th December: The deployment of animal detection systems on National Highway-37 in Kaziranga National Park is reportedly facing challenges, with the technology experiencing intermittent functionality.
RTI activist Rohit Choudhury has expressed concerns over the malfunctioning of animal sensors, emphasizing the need for their proper operation to reduce animal-vehicle collisions.
Choudhury has urged the Union Minister of Environment, Forests & Climate Change to address the issue and ensure the re-functionalization of sensor cameras in critical animal corridors.
The malfunctioning cameras pose risks to the wildlife in Kaziranga National Park, home to diverse and endangered species.
