Guwahati, 19th December: In a shocking incident of filicide, a father in Assam’s Golaghat, Assam allegedly killed his four-year-old son to death after he (father) was unable to tolerate the child’s loud crying.
The incident occurred in Uparlangtha village which falls under Barpathar Police Station, and came to light on December 19.
Initial reports revealed that the child’s grandmother entered the premises upon noticing blood splattered across the floor, only to recover the lifeless body of her grandchild, who happened to be the accused father’s only son.
The heartbreaking sequence of incident unfolded as the child cried loudly, and the accused, identified as Prashanta Hao, purportedly overwhelmed by the noise, stomped the child to death under his feet, as recounted by the deceased child’s grandmother.
After committing the heinous crime, Prashanta Hao allegedly attempted to conceal the evidence by burying the child’s body in a pit he dug in his own backyard.
Upon learning of the incident, a local resident sought assistance from the Village Defence Organization (VDO) and escorted them to the crime scene.
Subsequently, the Barpathar Police were informed and they immediately arrived, arresting the accused father on the same night.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the mother of the deceased child resides in Dimapur, Nagaland, with their two daughters due to professional commitments.
Notably, the accused father has a history of criminal activities, being a repeat offender with multiple incarcerations.
