Himanta Biswa Sarma: Previous BTR Government Left Behind Rs 3,000 Crore Loan

Guwahati, 29th December: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Pramod Boro’s leadership, emphasizing the success of the “triple engine government” in Kokrajhar during the 3rd Anniversary meeting at Bjijni District Sports Association Playground, Chirang. Sarma highlighted the alliance between the BJP-UPPL government in Kokrajhar, the BJP government in Dispur, and the Modi government in Delhi, stating that as long as Bodoland has this triple-engine government, it will thrive in peace and development.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the previous BTR government, Sarma criticized parties that opposed development in the region, aiming to break the UPPL-BJP alliance. He questioned the communal disharmony, lack of peace, and insufficient development during their over 10-year tenure.

Blaming the previous administration, Sarma disclosed a significant reduction in the region’s loan liability from Rs 3,000 crore to Rs 1200 crore. He accused past governments of prioritizing personal gain over public welfare.

Chief Minister Sarma’s visit to Kokrajhar and Chirang aligns with BTR Chief Pramod Boro’s celebration of three years of peace, development, and progress. Boro highlighted achievements across different sectors, crediting the triple-engine efforts of the Central Government, State Government, and Bodoland Territorial Council for the region’s positive transformation.
