Rahul Gandhi Receives Unanimous Support from Congress Working Committee for Second ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra
National Desk, 22nd December: In a significant development, Congress leaders, led by MP KC Venugopal, announced that Rahul Gandhi has garnered unanimous support from the Congress Working Committee (CWC) to embark on a second ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from East to West. Venugopal disclosed that party workers and leaders nationwide have overwhelmingly urged Rahul Gandhi to undertake this yatra, emphasizing its impact on shaping the party’s narrative.
Speaking after the CWC meeting, Venugopal stated, “The Congress president initially told Rahul Gandhi that he’s getting massive opinions from party workers and leaders all over India that Rahul Gandhi should do a second Yatra from east to west. After that, all the CWC members, unanimously also requested Rahul Gandhi to do the Yatra.”
While details about the yatra are yet to be finalized, Venugopal assured that decisions would be made promptly. He also mentioned the formation of an alliance committee to engage with INDIA alliance partners at the state level, demonstrating the party’s commitment to strategic collaborations.
Reflecting on the current political climate, Venugopal asserted, “The mood of the country now is against BJP…We are very much convinced that Congress and INDIA alliance is going to fight against this dictatorship and rule.”
Addressing the invitation extended to CCP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for the Ram temple opening, Venugopal expressed gratitude, stating, “They invited us. We are very much thankful to them for inviting us.”
Recalling the impact of Rahul Gandhi’s previous yatra, which covered 3,970 km, 12 states, and two Union territories, Venugopal highlighted its influence on elections in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh. “The impact of Rahul Gandhi’s yatra was seen during the polls in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, as they recorded a sharp increase in strike rate and vote share,” he noted, emphasizing the significant role such initiatives play in shaping electoral outcomes.
