Sports Desk, 25th December: The Sports Ministry has directed the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to establish a temporary panel to manage the affairs of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). This decision follows the suspension of the newly elected WFI management due to disagreements with wrestlers.
The temporary committee, mandated by the Sports Ministry, will oversee all WFI matters, including athlete selection. The move aims to address concerns about governance and integrity within the WFI.
The Sports Ministry’s letter suggests the possibility of a re-election, indicating a need for stringent measures to uphold good governance in sports organizations.
The IOA’s temporary panel will handle daily WFI operations, including entries for international events and event organization.
