Manipur: Armed Militants Reportedly Kill Village Volunteer in Amid Escalating Tensions

Northeast Desk, 30th December: In a tragic incident amidst escalating tensions in Manipur, armed militants are reported to have killed a 35-year-old village volunteer in Kadangband Part 2, Imphal West district. The attack occurred in the early hours of December 30, with suspected Kuki armed militants allegedly involved.

The victim, identified as Jamesbond Ningombam from Mayang Lamgjing, lost his life in the attack. The deceased’s body has been taken to the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences for post-mortem.

This incident adds to the ongoing challenges faced by the region, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to address the complex socio-political issues and ensure the safety of the residents in Manipur.
