Guwahati, 30th December: In a major development, the Assam Police’s Crime Branch has successfully apprehended two government officials implicated in the Guwahati land scam.
The arrested individuals are identified as Senior Sub-Registrar Ranjit Choudhary and Sub-Registrar Niharendra Thaosen, both alleged to be the key figures behind the fraudulent activities in Guwahati’s land records.
Sources indicate that the police team executed the arrests, taking Niharendra Thaosen into custody from a resort in Kolkata and detaining Ranjit Choudhary at his residence in Guwahati.
The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the land scam, shedding light on the alleged involvement of government officials in the illicit activities.
