Arunachal: Fire devours 4 houses, granary in East Siang District

Northeast Desk, 3rd Jan: A massive fire engulfed at least four houses and a granary in Sido village, East Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh.

The incident, occurring on Monday, resulted in property loss amounting to lakhs of rupees, including essential documents and food grains.

While the fire was successfully brought under control by fire tenders and locals, one person suffered minor injuries.

Preliminary investigations indicate that an electrical short-circuit triggered the blaze, according to Ruksin Police Station Officer-in-Charge C Joseph.

In response to the crisis, East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, Lok Sabha member Tapir Gao, and Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering swiftly visited the affected area.

Relief materials were provided to the impacted families, aiming to alleviate their immediate needs following the tragic incident.

The authorities are working to assess the full extent of the damage and support the community in the aftermath of the fire.
