Tripura Chief Minister Announces Significant Increase in MLA Area Development Fund

Northeast Desk, 5th Jan: On the first day of the Thirteenth Tripura Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced a substantial increase in the MLA Area Development Fund.

The current allocation, set at Rs. 50 Lakhs per MLA per year, totaling Rs. 30 crores for all 60 MLAs, is proposed to be raised to Rs. 75 lakhs per MLA.

This enhancement, representing an additional allocation of Rs. 25 lakhs for each MLA, is expected to raise the total annual allocation for all 60 MLAs to Rs. 45 crores.

Dr. Saha highlighted that this increase is slated to take effect in the upcoming financial year, 2024-25.
