Tripura: NLFT (BM) Cadre Surrenders, Chooses Path of Peace
Northeast Desk, 7th January: In a significant development, an undisclosed cadre belonging to the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) (BM) surrendered at the Border Out Post (BOP) Manoranjan in the Chawmanu area of Dhalai District on January 7, 2024. The surrender took place under the supervision of the Border Security Force (BSF) authorities.
The individual, identified as Uday Manik Jamatia from Tulsiram Bari village in Killa, Gomati district, made the brave decision to abandon the path of violence in the early hours of the day. Having joined the NLFT (BM) in September 2023, Jamatia expressed a desire to lead a normal life and integrate into the mainstream of the nation.
This surrender underscores the ongoing efforts of central agencies and state authorities to encourage individuals associated with insurgent outfits to choose peace and contribute positively to the nation’s progress. The decision by Uday Manik Jamatia reflects the impact of initiatives aimed at reintegrating individuals into the fabric of mainstream society.
