Assam: AIUDF President Badruddin Ajmal Asserts BJP’s Electoral Success Hinges on Muslim Votes in Lok Sabha Elections
Guwahati, January 10: All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) President Badruddin Ajmal, in a press conference in Goalpara, emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) success in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the formation of the central government heavily depend on securing Muslim votes.
Ajmal disclosed statements attributed to Union Minister Giriraj Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, urging outreach to Muslim areas, mosques, and madrasas to secure a significant percentage of votes.
Lok Sabha MP Ajmal extended an invitation to Muslims, stating, “If they (Muslims) will come along, then we will welcome them.” However, he mentioned that AIUDF has directed its members and supporters against voting for the BJP in the upcoming elections. In November, AIUDF had strategically allocated 11 seats to the Congress to counter the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.
Simultaneously, BJP national president JP Nadda arrived in Guwahati to chair crucial party meetings, including the state executive and core committee meetings of the party’s Assam unit. The political landscape in Assam intensifies as parties gear up for the electoral battle in the state with 14 Lok Sabha seats.
