Assam Congress President Questions BJP and RSS Authority over Ram Mandir Invitations

Guwahati, 11th January: Assam State Congress president Bhupen Borah questions the authority of BJP and RSS in extending invitations for the ‘pran pratistha’ of the Ram Mandir. He asserts that the iconic temple belongs to everyone and raises concerns about political ownership. Bhupen Borah also addresses the upcoming Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, announcing the disclosure of Barpeta and Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency candidates during the yatra on January 25 and 26. He expresses concerns over permissions for Rahul Gandhi’s container vehicle during the yatra, highlighting the Congress’s determination to proceed with the journey despite challenges.

Borah firmly states, “Nobody should invite us for Ram Mandir ‘pran pratistha’. Ram Mandir belongs to everyone.” The Congress alleges denial of night-stay permissions by the Assam government for its leaders during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, with Leader of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia accusing the BJP of impeding their democratic right.

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, covering 6,713 km in 67 days, aims to highlight economic, social, and political justice, making people aware of their constitutional rights. Despite challenges, the Congress remains undeterred in its preparation for the journey.
