Assam Rifles Apprehends Two Active ULFA-I Cadres Attempting Infiltration via Arunachal Pradesh

Northeast Desk, 11th January: In a commendable operation conducted on January 11, Assam Rifles successfully apprehended two active members of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) while they were attempting to enter India through Arunachal Pradesh’s Lazio region.

The two captured ULFA-I cadres have been identified as Swayambhu 2nd Lieutenant Manuj Buragohain, known by the alias Pramod Axom, and Masud Karim Sarkar, alias Fatik Axom.

According to reports, the two insurgents were in the process of crossing the Indo-Myanmar border into India by choosing the route through Lazio in Arunachal Pradesh.

These ULFA-I cadres are believed to have originated from the organization’s Hachi camp situated in Myanmar.

It needs to be mentioned that both individuals have been handed over to the Khonsa police in Arunachal Pradesh.
