Manipur: Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra resumes from Sekmai, to halt in Nagaland at night

Northeast Desk, 15th January: On the second day of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, the journey progressed from Sekmai in Manipur’s Imphal West district to Kangpokpi and Senapati. The day’s events commenced with Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh overseeing the flag hoisting, conducted by Seva Dal and PCC President of Manipur, Keisham Meghachandra.

Supriya Shrinate, the party’s social media representative, emphasized the need for unity against issues such as unemployment, inflation, poverty, crime, and insecurity. Launched by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi from Thoubal, Manipur on Sunday, the yatra aims to cover over 6,700 kilometers across 110 districts in 67 days.

Prior to the journey’s commencement, party leaders and workers observed a moment of silence to honor the victims of state violence. On Sunday, Rahul Gandhi underscored the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’s goal of delivering justice to those currently facing a time of ‘great injustice’ in the nation.

Expressing criticism, the Congress leader rebuked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his absence in the ethnically conflicted state, deeming it ‘shameful’ that the country’s PM did not visit to console the affected populace.
