Schools in the Delhi reopen with revised timings due to cold

National Desk, 15th January: All classes in Delhi have resumed physical learning with revised timings from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm after a temporary closure due to severe fog conditions.

Delhi Education Minister Atishi had declared the closure for nursery to class 5 from January 8 to 12. Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddh Nagar, schools from nursery to standard 8 remain closed until January 16 due to intensifying cold weather.

The closure is a precautionary measure considering dense fog, low visibility, and the ongoing cold wave in the district.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports Dense to Very Dense fog in various states, including Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar. Haryana and Chandigarh also experience dense fog in some areas.
