Assam: Amit Shah Commends Sashastra Seema Bal on 60th Raising Day

Guwahati, 20th January: During his two-day visit to Assam, Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on its 60th Raising Day. Shah highlighted the government’s efforts under PM Modi’s leadership in the past nine years for the welfare of all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), including CRPF and organizations deployed along border areas.

Speaking at the Raising Day Ceremony in Tezpur, Assam, Amit Shah emphasized the steps taken for the welfare of CAPFs, releasing a postal stamp to commemorate their dedication to duty. He recalled the implementation of the ‘One Border One Force’ policy during former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and highlighted SSB’s role in protecting India’s borders with Nepal and Bhutan since 2001 and 2004, respectively.

Celebrating SSB’s 60th Raising Day, Shah acknowledged their contribution to maintaining the integrity and security of India’s frontiers. Beyond border patrol, SSB engages in community outreach and social welfare initiatives to build rapport with local populations, essential for effective border management. The home minister’s visit underscored the government’s commitment to the well-being and effectiveness of security forces.
