Sikkim: Ramutsav Samiti Appeals for Public Holiday in state on Ayodhya Ram Temple Ceremony
Northeast Desk, 20th January: The Ramutsav Samiti in Sikkim has urged the state government to declare January 22nd a public holiday in honor of the consecration ceremony for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. This request follows the Maharashtra government’s decision to declare January 22 as a public holiday.
Niren Bhandari, Pramukh of the Shri Ram Mandir Darshan Program of Tadong Durga Mandir, expressed excitement about the upcoming event and invited Lord Ram followers and Bhakts to join the massive rally organized by the Ramutsav Samiti in Tadong, Sikkim.
Highlighting the significance of the day, Bhandari emphasized that it is an unprecedented moment in 500 years, providing an opportunity to celebrate Lord Ram. The Samiti has also extended invitations to 16 special representatives from Sikkim to participate in the grand ceremony.
With the Chief Minister of Sikkim being a devoted Ram Bhakt, the Samiti hopes for the declaration of January 22 as a public holiday to acknowledge the sentiments of Ram Bhakts in the state. The appeal aims to unite Ram Bhakts across Sikkim and make the historic event a memorable day for all.
