Assam CM and Union HM Celebrate Sashastra Seema Bal’s 60th Anniversary
Guwahati, 20th January: In a grand celebration marking the 60th year of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in festivities in Guwahati on January 19. The event highlighted the crucial role played by the SSB in safeguarding the Himalayan frontiers with Bhutan and Nepal, as well as maintaining internal security.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged the SSB’s important role in border protection and internal security, emphasizing their dedication over the years. Union Home Minister Amit Shah joined the celebrations as part of his two-day visit to Assam, showcasing the government’s commitment to the state’s development and security.
One of the key highlights of Shah’s visit includes the book release event titled ‘Assam’s Braveheart Lachit Barphukan’ at the Srimanta Sankardeva International Auditorium. Additionally, he will inaugurate the Brahmaputra Riverfront in Guwahati later in the day, contributing to the city’s infrastructure and providing enhanced recreational spaces. The riverfront project is expected to play a significant role in the overall development of Guwahati.
